I am grateful to share that my poem, Shut Down Red Hill, is now published in the Hawai’i Pacific Review, the online literary magazine of Hawai’i Pacific University. This poem was written during Ashia Ajani’s “Writing Nature Poetry” class with Blue Stoop this past spring. We had been studying the anti-pastoral, challenging colonial visions of paradise. I had been thinking of ancestry and the holiness of water; who reveres the water, and who owns it.
You can read and share the poem here, and listen below. Passing my work along to your communities is always appreciated.
